REGISTRATION
The registration process for Fall 2010 begins in January 2010. Call Marcia in the school office at (714) 378-9932 ext. 3 to be invited to a New Parent Meeting. You will also have an opportunity to tour our campus and talk with teachers. At the conclusion of the meeting you will be able to sign your child up for entrance testing.
NEW STUDENTS
Upon receiving word from H.C.S. that a child has been accepted and that there is a place available for the child, please bring the following completed forms on the day of registration: (If there is not a place available for the child at this time, please bring the completed forms to remain on the waiting list. The registration fee will not be collected until a place is available).
- Application for Admission
- Completed Financial Form
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Health Form
- Immunization and Physical Examination Form
- Registration fee in the amount of $255 (grades K-5th) or $280 (grades 6th-8th). (This fee is non-refundable)
- Optional forms: Field Trip Driver Form, Grandparent Form
- Student Evaluation Form: (grades 1st-8th) should have been sent by child’s current school.

RETURNING STUDENTS
A returning student is one who has been enrolled at H.C.S. for the 2009-2010 school year. Registration for all returning students may be completed by submitting the following enclosed forms along with a check for registration fees. The registration fee is non-refundable. Please follow these instructions completely. Children will not be considered enrolled until all requirements are completed accurately and with all information included.
- Complete the Returning Student Application: (both sides) with signature.
- Completed Financial Form: (one per family) – The person responsible for fee payments must be the one to sign the form.
- Kids' Overtime Registration: (optional) – (one per family) $50 registration fee per family required
- Field Trip Driver Form: (optional) – allows parents to drive for field trips
- Grandparent Information Form: (optional) – allows a grandparent to receive newsletters and an invitation to Grandparent’s Day.
- Include the registration fee of $255 (grades 1st-5th) or $280 (grades 6th -8th) (non-refundable).
- Registration must be returned to school in the registration envelope provided any day before Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. There will be no specified registration day for returning students.
- The first tuition payment is due by Tuesday, July 6, 2010 and is non-refundable.
If a parent has not registered their child by Wednesday, March 3, 2010 and H.C.S. does not receive their first tuition payment by July 6, 2010, that child may be dropped and the opening filled by an outside student on the waiting list. H.C.S. will make every effort to work with parents before this action is taken.
REGISTRATION PRIORITY
KINDERGARTEN
First Priority: Siblings of H.C.S. students who have successfully passed the Gesell Kindergarten Readiness Test given by Mrs. Marsh and who have received an invitation to register. Registration materials will be given out at the time of testing. Registrar must be notified that a sibling would like to enroll by February 1, 2010.
Second Priority: E.C.D.C. or students whose parents are active (60% attendance) First Christian Church members. Students must be enrolled in E.C.D.C. by September 2009 to be eligible for priority. Parents must be members of First Christian Church by September 1, 2009 to be eligible for priority. Students must have successfully completed the Gesell Kindergarten Test given by Mrs. Marsh and have received an invitation to register. Registration materials will be handed out at the time of testing.
Third Priority: * Outside students whose parents have expressed an interest by Thursday, March 11, 2010, who successfully completed the Gesell Readiness Test and who received an invitation to register. Registration papers will be given to parents at the time of testing.
Fourth Priority: * Outside students whose parents have expressed an interest after Thursday, March 11, 2010, who successfully completed the Gesell Readiness Test and who received an invitation to register. Registration papers will be given to parents at the time of testing.
Registration will take place after testing is complete.

*Students who cannot be accommodated will be placed on a waiting list in their priority category according to readiness for the 2010-2011 school year. Waiting lists are valid until January of 2011.
GRADES FIRST THROUGH EIGHTH
First Priority: Returning Students. Registration Packets must be completed correctly and returned to the school office before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Parents of fifth grade students must attend a middle school orientation meeting before they will be allowed to register their child for sixth grade.
Second Priority: * Siblings of H.C.S. students or students whose parents are active (60% attendance) First Christian Church members. Parents must be members of First Christian Church as of September 1, 2009 to be eligible for priority. The registrar must be notified by February 1, 2010 in order to maintain sibling and church priority. Students must successfully pass an achievement test for their current grade level and be evaluated on the entrance criteria.
Third Priority: * Outside students whose parents have expressed an interest by Thursday, March 11, 2010, and who successfully pass an achievement test for their current grade level.
Fourth Priority: * Outside students whose parents have expressed an interest after Thursday, March 11, 2010, and who successfully pass an achievement test for their current grade level.
Notice of Acceptance: Parents will be notified as soon as testing is complete and H.C.S. has received copies of report cards, standardize tests, and teacher recommendations.
