REQUIREMENTS FOR KINDERGARTEN ENTRANCE

1.    AGE:  Child must be 5 before September 1, 2008

2.    INFORMATION MEETING:  All new families to the school  are required to attend a

       New Parent Information Meeting in order to register a student for September 2008.

3.   TESTING:  Mrs. Marsh, director of the Early Childhood Development Center,  will test all incoming kindergarten students.  The Gesell Developmental Test will be used and each student must be recommended as ready for H.C.S. Kindergarten in order to be accepted or placed on the waiting list.  The testing fee is $35.  We do not accept any other assessment tests and no re-testing will be allowed.

PRIORITY REGISTRATION FOR KINDERGARTEN

First Priority:     H.C.S. siblings who have successfully passed the Gesell Kindergarten Readiness Test given by Mrs. Marsh and who have received an invitation to register.  Registration materials will be given out at the time of testing.

Registration Date:   Thursday, March 20, 2008 – 8:15-4:00 in the registrar’s office

(Bring all registration papers accurately and completely filled out along with the registration fee.)  (Papers may be turned in with older returning sibling registration packet if testing is completed).

Second Priority: E.C.D.C. students or students whose parents are active (60% attendance)   First Christian Church members.  Students must be enrolled in E.C.D.C. by September 2007 to be eligible for priority.  Parents must be members of First Christian Church by September 1, 2007 to be eligible for priority.  Students must have successfully completed the Gesell Kindergarten Test given by Mrs. Marsh and have received an invitation to register.  Registration materials will be handed out at the time of testing.

Third Priority: Students whose parents expressed an interest by Thursday,  March 13, 2008, who successfully completed the Gesell  Readiness Test and who received an invitation to register. Registration papers will be given to you at the time of testing.

Registration Papers Due:  After notification of acceptance

Fourth Priority:  Students whose parents expressed an interest after Thursday, March 13, 2008, who successfully completed the Gesell Readiness Test  and who received an invitation to register.  Registration papers will be given to you at the time of testing.

Registration Date:  To be announced. 

(Bring all registration papers accurately and completely filled out along with the registration fee.)

Students who cannot be accommodated will be placed on a waiting list in their priority category according to readiness.  Waiting lists are valid until January of 2009.
