HOMEWORK POLICY
Homework is an essential part of school life for students. At Huntington Christian homework is an extension of our school program. Homework given at H.C.S. has contributed to the school’s overall academic excellence. Students, parents, and teachers expect homework.
- Each class will have a homework policy plainly communicated to the student and parent at the beginning of the school year.
- Homework will aid students in developing independent study habits.
- Homework will not be new material to be taught by the parent but rather re-enforcement of skills pre-taught by the teacher. Parents are encouraged to share in their child's learning through assistance in the practicing and reinforcing process of homework.
- Homework will be within the practical ability of the child.
- Normally, daily homework will not be assigned over weekends or holidays, except middle school pre-algebra and algebra.
