FOUNDATIONAL EDUCATION ADMISSION POLICIES
To be admitted, the student and the student’s parent or
guardian shall agree to adhere to the Christian-belief system, policies and
regulations of H.C.S.; H.C.S. may
admit students whose parent or guardian are non-Christians, provided the parent
or guardian agrees to abide by and not hinder the educational systems, policies
and regulations of H.C.S. in so far as the admission, education and growth of
the student is concerned. H.C.S.’s
biblical role is to work in conjunction with students’ homes to mold students
to be Christ-like in accordance with the Gospel. Therefore, it is the desire of H.C.S. that every student
have a personal relationship with Christ and that the Gospel be a natural part
of the relationship building process. To facilitate this ministerial desire, each teacher is expected to
provide a clear presentation of the Gospel to each assigned student during the
course of the school year and to understand the status and progress of each
assigned student’s relationship to and with Christ.
The atmosphere or conduct within a particular student’s home
may be in opposition to the biblical lifestyle professed by H.C.S. This includes, but is not limited to,
sexual immorality, homosexual sexual orientation, or the inability to support
moral principles of H.C.S. In such
cases, H.C.S. reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission
of an applicant, to discontinue enrollment of a student, or to institute other
action deemed advisable to serve and protect the best interests and ministry of
H.C.S. As a ministry for students
of many different ages with varying education levels, these Admission Policies
of H.C.S. do not substitute or replace any age, application, or testing
requirement or other admissions policy or regulation of or performed by H.C.S.,
but are instead designed to provide a statement of the foundational education
and religious belief systems of H.C.S. All board members are expected to review and understand all of H.C.S.’s
policies relating to the student admissions process.
Enrolling kindergarten students for Fall 2010 must be five years old by September 1, 2010, must pass a readiness test, and must demonstrate necessary maturity.
Test results, SAT scores, past report card and present teacher recommendation will all be evaluated for admission.
